Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was an American poet, author, and educator. He was one of the most popular poets of the 19th century and is best known for his poems "The Song of Hiawatha" and "Paul Revere's Ride." Longfellow was born in Portland, Maine, in 1807. He graduated from Bown College in 1825 and then studied law at Harvard Law School. However, he soon abandoned his legal career to pursue his love of literature. In 1835, he was appointed professor of modern languages at Harvard College, a position he held for 18 years.

Longfellow's poetry is characterized by its simplicity, sentimentality, and optimism. He often wrote about the beauty of nature, the joys of family life, and the importance of morality. His poems were widely read and enjoyed by people of all ages. Longfellow died in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1882.
