About Detective Comics

Detective Comics is a long-running American comic book series published by DC Comics. It is one of the most popular and influential comic books in history, and has been published continuously since 1937. Detective Comics features the adventures of the superhero Batman, and has introduced many of the most iconic characters in the DC Universe, including Robin, the Joker, and Catwoman.

Detective Comics was created by Gardner Fox and Bob Kane, and the first issue was published in March 1937. The comic initially featured a variety of detective stories, but Batman quickly became the main character. Batman's popularity led to the creation of his own solo comic book series, Batman, in 1940.
